On November 15th, 1988 the uncrewed Buran spacecraft launched from pad 110/37 in Baikonur, Kazakhstan. In its 206 minutes of flight, it orbited the Earth twice and performed an automated landing on the shuttle runway at Baikonur Cosmodrome. Unfortunately, this would be its first and only flight. 2023 will mark the 30th anniversary of the shutdown of the soviet Energia/Buran space project.
